Adrian Heskin: I’d like to think he can go well here.

Barton Knoll
I rode him for the first time at Wetherby last month and I liked him. Of course, it always helps when they win but he travelled well through the race and he was in front soon enough after the leader fell. He probably won a bit more comfortably than it looked in the end, and hopefully he can give a similarly good account of himself here. But he carries a 6lb penalty for that race and this looks a better contest, so this will obviously be a lot tougher for him.

Baby King
He won well for me in heavy ground at Wincanton last February and I’m sure he would have gone very close to following up off a 7lb higher mark had he not fallen at Market Rasen last time. He races off the same mark here, so I think he is fairly handicapped, and if they get a bit more rain that will be ideal for him. He has gone well fresh in the past too, so I’d like to think he can go well here. He has schooled well since the fall, too.

He joined us for a fair amount after finishing second his point in April, where he did well to come from off the pace. I see that the winner of that race finished a good second on his bumper debut at Chepstow earlier in the week, and we like our horse. He is a fine, imposing individual, and he has gone well at home for me.
