Adrian Heskin: Plans are still up in the air for a few of my potential Cheltenham Festival rides
As you can probably guess, plans are still up in the air for a few of my potential Cheltenham Festival rides.
On the Tuesday, Tom [George] has Tolworth winner Summerville Boy in the Supreme and Singlefarmpayment, who also is in the Kim Muir, is a possible for me in the Ultima, the race in which we were beaten only a short-head in last year. Wild West Wind has an entry in both of those handicap chases, too.
Rocklander, who won well at Newbury last time, is entered in the Close Brothers at the end of the card. Keeper Hill is in that race, too, but he also has entries in the RSA and the four-miler, so a decision is still to be made there.
The stable has Black Op in the Ballymore and God’s Own (who is also in the Ryanair) in the Champion Chase, and I potentially have two decent rides at the end of the card in the shape of Act Of Valour in the Fred Winter and Musselburgh winner Seddon in the Champion Bumper, in which Tom also has The Big Bite.
On the Thursday, I hope we get decent ground for The World’s End in the Stayers’ Hurdle, as he looks to be going there in really good form.
Our French recruit Casa Tall has entries in the Fred Winter and Triumph Hurdle, while also on the Thursday Stamp Your Feet is entered in the Pertemps and Brandon Hill is in the handicap chase, though the latter is very unlikely to get a run.
On The Friday, the star of the show is hopefully going to be King George runner-up Double Shuffle in the Gold Cup, but Mulcahys Hill wouldn’t be a bad ride in the Albert Bartlett, either. Bun Doran is also in the Grand Annual, but he needs a fair few to come out to get a run.
