Apple’s Jade

She has come out of Cheltenham in good shape and seems very well in herself. She comes here as the form horse and the one to beat on her performances this season, and she did it bravely for me at Cheltenham when getting the better of Vroum Vroum Mag and Limini. She won well at this meeting last season and you have to be positive about her chances, though I was impressed by Karalee at Limerick.

Dinaria Des Obeaux

To be honest you would have to say she has been disappointing since getting the race in the stewards’ room at Fairyhouse in February, and she would ideally want softer ground. But she didn’t run too badly last time and hopefully she can pick up some prize money for Gordon at the very least.

Marinero

He has faced some very stiff tasks this season, but he is stepping down in class now and the drying round will suit him. I think he is fairly handicapped off a mark of 142 and Henry is also running him in first-time cheekpieces, so there are plenty of reasons to be optimistic.

Automated

I don’t think he got the best of runs in the Coral Cup last time but he ran okay and is effectively 5lb lower here. That is still a fair bit higher than when winning for me at Navan previously but this strong-traveller did it well that day and you can give him a fair shot in here.
