He was in the process of running a fair race when coming down at the last in the Fred Winter at Cheltenham, and that just sums up his season really. Frustrating. I was brought down at the first on him at Leopardstown over Christmas and he then finished a close second in all four of his next starts. This appears to give him an excellent opportunity of getting his head in front, but I guess we have said that a few times this season!
Ballela Boy
As you’d expect, this is a very close-knit hurdle. He won over an extended 2m6f here in October and struggled in two races afterwards. He has had a break since his last run in November, maybe waiting for a bit better ground, but his record suggests he does go well when fresh and he clearly has a chance in a tricky race to call.
