Champions League draw: Liverpool face Real Madrid
Having lost last season’s Champions League final to Real Madrid, Liverpool must now face the Spanish giants once again to progress in the competition.
With the draw for the round of 16 complete, Jurgen Klopp’s side meet Real Madrid in the competition for the fourth time since 2018. Ominously, Real came out on top in each of those three previous ties.
Manchester City will face RB Leipzig, with Tottenham taking on AC Milan and Chelsea drawn against Borussia Dortmund in the final 16, with ties taking place in February.
Another notable encounter see Paris Saint-Germain face off against Bayern Munich; both clubs are well fancied to lift the Cup, with Bayern 15/2 and Paris 9/1 for CL glory.
The aforementioned Man City are current favourites at 7/4. Liverpool are rated 9/1 to win the competition, with Chelsea, Real Madrid, and Napoli each 14/1 shots to go all the way.
Napoli face Eintracht Frankfurt in their round of 16 tie. The Serie A side were unbeaten this season before going down 2-0 to Liverpool at Anfield earlier this month.
In the game’s remaining ties, Belgian underdogs Club Brugge take on Portuguese hopefuls Benfica. And Inter will come up against Porto.
