Bryan Cooper

Aged just 24, Bryan Cooper has already packed an incredible amount into his short career – not least a catalogue of injuries that bring a whole new meaning to the word unlucky! His first win was aboard Rossdara, a horse trained by his father, in a maiden hurdle race at Clonmel on 29 October 2009, and he has not looked back since. He had three wins at the Cheltenham Festival in 2013, and in January 2014 he took over the position of retained jockey for the all-powerful owners, Gigginstown House Stud, a position he held until recently. He also landed National Hunt’s biggest prize when Don Cossack won the 2016 Gold Cup at Cheltenham. One suspects that won’t be his last win in the race, and he is one of the best talents in the National Hunt weighing rooms in both Ireland and the UK.
