Euro 2020: Slovakia vs Spain, Sweden vs Poland, Germany vs Hungary, Portugal vs France
Slovakia vs Spain
After drawing their first two matches, a win for Spain at Seville’s La Cartuja Stadium would see them make it to the round of 16 – but even a draw could be enough, if Poland fail to beat Sweden in the other group game.
Spain boss Luis Enrique won’t want to rely on that outcome, though. Slovakia are not one of the heavy hitters and you’d think the Spaniards should have enough to take a win against this side. That said, the Slovaks will presumably be taking a staunchly defensive approach, given they themselves only need a draw to progress to the next stage.
Spain are obviously the better side and the odds reflect that – it’s 11/50 for a Spanish victory – but the three-time Euro winners have struggled to find the net in previous games, even spurning a penalty last time out.
You’d think the Spanish have to get it together for this match; will it be a joyous outpouring of goals for the misfiring side? Alvaro Morata, who found the net against Poland, is 26/25 to score at any time.
Sweden vs Poland
Sweden are already through to the next round, and will top the group if they can defeat Poland, who need victory here to progress.
The Poles have scored at least one goal in each of their last eight matches, while the Swedes may take their foot off the gas in St Petersburg.
Could Robert Lewandowski be able to replicate club form for his nation? He scored against Spain last time out, and is 18/5 to get the opener here.
Germany vs Hungary
The Germans need to win or draw in order to make it to the next stage – but a win here in Munich could see them finish as group winners, too, if France fail to win their game against Portugal. Nothing less than a win will do for the Hungarians to secure a spot in the last 16.
Germany came alive in their last game against Portugal, winning 4-2; this one could have goals in it too, and seems likely to end up with Jogi Low’s side winning, even with Hungary fighting. Germany to win and BTTS is a 33/20 shot.
Portugal vs France
France have already made certain of a place in the round of 16; Portugal must win or draw to progress. So – could the holders be going out here at Budapest’s Puskas Arena?
Beaten by Germany fairly comfortably, Portugal need to show a reaction, but they’ve surely got a chance. France might be amongst the favourites to win Euro 2020 – but thus far, the French were efficient rather than outstanding against Germany, and had to settle for a draw with the Hungarians. This could end up as another stalemate, with the draw a 9/4 shot.
