There isn’t a lot between quite a few of these, but my colt is in there with a fighting chance. He obviously did really well to split Shutter Speed and Enable over 1m2f on fast ground at Newbury, and possibly wasn’t seen to best effect for when third to Khalidi at Goodwood last time. He was also a very smart juvenile and I think the step up in trip should be okay for him; he has each-way claims but of course there are some unexposed and possible big improvers like Crystal Ocean in here, and you also have the likes of the Dante winner, too, and horses who ran respectably in the Derby. It’s a tough race.
Visionary
He is a horse I have always liked since I won on him on his debut and I think he had more in hand than it looked when winning at Newbury last time. But this looks an absolute monster of a race with the likes of Caravaggio, Harry Angel, Blue Point and Wesley’s Bound For Nowhere in here, so he could run well and finish seventh.
Fierce Impact
He is a horse I have always rated since I won on him on his debut at Yarmouth last autumn. He started the season rated only 81 but he was pitched in at the deep end at Sandown first time out, and ran really well to finish fifth, and he then stepped up again when second to Khalidi at Goodwood last time. This is a big step up in trip to 1m6f for the Deep Impact colt but he promises to be suited by it, and I think the ground could suit him, too. I think he won in spite of the going when winning in the soft at Yarmouth first time up. There is more to come from him.
Oasis Fantasy
This trip on decent ground is what he wants and he has been steadily running into form since joining David. He put up his best effort for him at York last time, and he has place claims. He is obviously more exposed than the likes of Appeared and Mainstream but he has dropped down to a good mark, 1lb lower than when a good second at Goodwood last summer, and he is fairly drawn in seven. He has also been placed in both his starts here.
