Jamie Spencer: I think a first-time hood could be a good move with her
Harwoods Volante
I don’t know that much about him but he appeared run okay last time and has been slowly coming down the weights, despite running well, this season. So I think he is weighted to be competitive and I suppose the other thing you notice is that the cheekpieces are back on for the first time since he was a good second at Kempton last season. I can see him running well.
Shanghai Glory
I am told he was well backed for the Stewards’ Cup last time and he ran a blinder to finish fifth there. He races off the same mark here and it isn’t hard to see him running another good race on just his third outing this season. He was a good winner of a Listed race at the Curragh last season.
Blind Faith
I have ridden her twice this season and she has run well on each occasion, even if she can be a bit keen and tricky. So I think a first-time hood could be a good move with her and she has been eased 1lb after her Chelmsford third last time, too.
Two For Two
He was a good horse a few years back and showed he still retains plenty of that ability with an Ayr win and some fair, recent efforts in defeat. He is also a course-and-distance winner. I wouldn’t say he has an obvious chance at the weights, but if he runs his race he hopefully shouldn’t be far away.
Chocolate Box
He has run well for me on his last two starts, not beaten far at Newbury last time, and he has chances in an open race. There isn’t a lot more to say other than that.
