Jamie Spencer: The likes of Midterm have to be respected but my horse has a lot to recommend him
Second Step
The likes of Midterm have to be respected but my horse has a lot to recommend him, even though he picks up a 3lb penalty for his Goodwood win last time. He has done all his recent racing on fast ground but 1m4f with a bit of cut is fine for him, and he has excellent course form too, having finished second to Big Orange in the Princess Of Wales’s here last summer.
Stormy Antarctic
If he is at his best then he is the one to beat at these weights, back in grade. That said, it looks a pretty hot Listed race for all that there are only five runners. It was galling to just get mugged on the line at Doncaster first time up and he has had a break since being sent over to contest the Champions Mile at Sha Tin last time. On his best form – the likes of his Craven win, or his Prix Jean Prat second – then he must go close.
Sayem
She ran below her best over 6f at Yarmouth last time but at least she was dropped 3lb for it and hopefully the step up in trip will suit. This is her first attempt at a mile but it looks worth a try on some of her earlier form.
