Josephine Gordon: He deserves to get his head in front now
Parish Boy
I have ridden him a few times and he would have a chance on his best recent form, such as his third at Newbury or second for me at Doncaster in July. He needs to bounce back from a moderate effort last time, where he ran a bit moodily, but 1m2f and a bit of cut suits.
Steady Pace
He ran two storming races for me when second in the Wokingham and when third in the Bunbury Cup, and he just got headed on the line by Hugo’s Gifted Master last time. He deserves to get his head in front now and his recent form gives him every chance of doing so, albeit this is a very competitive and close-knit little race.
Airton
I won on him at Newcastle earlier in the season and he came back to form with a fair third at Pontefract last time. He wasn’t beaten far there, so a 1lb rise is probably fair, and he is worth trying at this 2m trip for the first time.
Gnaad
He comes here in great form, so it’s a good ride to pick up. He has gone up 11lb for his two wins over 5f and is pretty much unproven over this extra furlong, but you have to be pretty positive about his chances of lasting home here and going close again.
