Josephine Gordon: He has never run a bad race for me in four starts
Topology
I’ve never sat on him before and he is probably going to be one of the outsiders here, but there are some reasons to be positive. Sure, he is still a maiden, is unproven over the trip and needs to step up a good deal on the form of his reappearance effort over an extended 1m at Nottingham, though he wasn’t beaten that far there. But he now looks fairly treated on some of his good, placed form over 7f and 1m last season and, although the dam side of his pedigree is mostly speed, his sire Passing Glance gives hope he will stay this 1m2f, and the horse is dropping into 0-75 handicap off the ceiling mark.
Alejandro
I seem to get on really well with him, and he has never run a bad race for me in four starts. 1m on good, drying ground here will suit him, just as it did when he won for me at Beverley last time. He did very well to win from his outside draw last time, so I definitely think he still can be competitive off a 4lb higher mark, for all this looks a better race with some unexposed and improving horses in opposition.
