Luke Morris: He goes for a quick hat-trick under a 6lb penalty
Dontforgettocall
He looks to have come back to his juvenile best in a first-time visor at Kempton last time, and he remains fairly treated off a 1lb higher mark. He also ran well enough here last year but being drawn widest in 11 is not ideal, obviously.
Perfect Spy
She has to bounce back from a poor run at Lingfield last time, where presumably the combination of an extended 1m3f on soft ground didn’t suit her. She steps down in trip here at a course where she ran much better previously, and she was also dropped 2lb for that Lingfield run. She has a decent pedigree, so hopefully she can be competitive off this mark in these different conditions.
Raashdy
He goes for a quick hat-trick here under a 6lb penalty. I have been on board for his last two wins, and they included a narrow win at Kempton on Wednesday night. He probably isn’t well handicapped under his penalty but he is clearly in form and hopefully the first-time cheekpieces will bring about more improvement, as he only does just enough. He did have a hard enough race on Wednesday but this is his last chance to run in a 0-50 for a while, so the opportunity is probably worth taking.
Swing Out Sister
I haven’t sat on her before but she looks a progressive filly, and a pretty well-related one as well, and she did it well from a couple of fair sports over 5f at Sandown last time. Her mark of 75 looks fair enough, too.
Mraseel
I finished second on her at Leicester earlier in the season and she has proved consistent since then, though she probably underperformed a bit at Chelmsford last time, albeit a slow start doesn’t have looked to have helped her cause there. She has the form to be competitive but the 7lb penalty she has picked up for her Bath win doesn’t make things easy.
Dreaming Time
It looks as if I have a fair set of rides on the card, and Dreaming Time is another one with decent claims. She has gone up 4lb for her win over a mile at Lingfield last time, which looks fair enough, and I don’t think the step back down to 7f should be a problem.
Spinnaka
She has gone well on both starts for me, although she didn’t run up to the form of her Chepstow win for Jamie at Brighton last time. Perhaps the soft ground was against her there – and the handicapper has ignored the run – so hopefully she can return to her best here. She ran okay here earlier in the year.
