She has never raced on anything softer than good, so that is an obvious worry. And a pretty big one, too.  Hopefully the course will continue dry out after Wednesday’s torrential and sustained downpour, and she takes her chance. To be honest, I have been a little bit disappointed with her on her last two starts, for all that her third in third in the King’s Stand and her short-head second to Caspian Prince in a Group 2 at the Curragh were creditable efforts.  Her best effort this season came when she carried a 7lb penalty to victory in the Palace House Stakes, and that is probably the best form on offer coming into this race along with Profitable’s and maybe Battaash’s Sandown win on fast ground.  Conditions won’t be ideal, but she’s a tough filly and hopefully she can handle it. And she’s certainly an improved horse since finishing fifth to Take Cover, beaten under a length, in this race last year.

He ran well in the soft on his debut, and then he was upped considerably in class to contest the Norfolk.  He understandably struggled there but he did really well to win over 5f at Chester last time after meeting trouble in running. A mark of 82 is probably not overly-generous but he shaped as though this step up to 6f will suit, so I’d say he has each-way claims.
