Luke Morris: Here’s hoping that I maintain my 100 per cent record in the Abbaye!
Marsha
I think the Nunthorpe will probably be remembered more for Frankie’s celebration than my filly winning the race, but I don’t think you should underestimate what a good performance that was from Marsha at York. And I sensed going down to the start that she was ready for a big run. She just gave me a better feel than she had done in recent outings, as if she was back on her A-game. So, for all her good placed efforts behind Lady Aurelia in the King’s Stand and Battaash at Goodwood, I think we saw her at her best at York, where she travelled really well from the outset. She obviously won this race last year, and while you have to respect Battaash on his Goodwood run and Signs Of Blessing of the home team – and this is probably a much better renewal – I think my filly is the one to beat in here. There are a few less runners than last year, so hopefully hard-luck stories will be at a minimum, and here is hoping that I maintain my 100 per cent in the race. Drying ground, and no more rain, will be in her favour, though she ran okay in the soft at Goodwood. I am very happy with my draw in four, right next to Battaash and Signs Of Blessing and the pace of the race.
