Paddy Brennan: Coolanly comes here in great form
Megalodon
He shaped pretty well at Newbury last time. Obviously he will need to improve a lot on that run to get into the mix here and is more of a future chaser, but he has ability.
Vice Et Vertu
I’ve won on him four times, and he definitely shaped as though he had another victory in him when second on his reappearance at Ascot. He has gone up another 3lb for that effort and he has to conclusively prove he stays this far, but I don’t think the trip will be any problem at all and we know that he handles testing conditions well.
Coolanly
This looks a really hot little contest, as you’d expect of a Grade 1, but we won this race with Poetic Rhythm last season and Coolanly has definite chances of following suit. He ran some great races last year, as well as finishing fifth at Aintree, and we aimed him at the Persian War at Chepstow for a long time. It was rather annoying to see him fall there, but he showed what we thought he was capable of when beating Pym at Cheltenham last time. He was really impressive there. The softer ground here won’t be an issue, as it was pretty testing when he chased home Vinndication at Leicester, and he comes here in great form.
