Paddy Brennan: God’s Own is a star of a horse
Collodi
He dotted up at Fakenham in a seller in October and he didn’t run too badly on his first hurdling start for new connections here last time. The handicapper has dropped him 2lb. so hopefully he can be competitive. The less rain the better for him, as he prefers good ground.
God’s Own
God’s Own is another horse who would like the rain to stay away. He is a star of a horse and it was great to see him back in the winner’s enclosure when winning the Haldon Gold Cup for me. That win came off a mark of 156, so he is clearly no back number just yet, even at the age of 10. This is a very good race though and he carries a 6lb penalty for that Exeter win, so this is a tough assignment giving weight away all round. But he is a hell of a horse when he gets his conditions, and I don’t think the ground will be too bad here.
