Paddy Brennan: He is 2lb lower than when winning this race last season
Amron Kali
He won three times for Paul last season, from trips ranging from 2m1f to 2m7f, so this distance will be fine for him and he will hopefully come on a fair deal for his reappearance effort over 3m2f at Fontwell. The handicapper has eased him 1lb, too, which always helps.
The Ogle Gogle Man
He makes his debut after coming from Irish points, where he won one in May. I don’t know much about him other than that, but there do look to be a couple of potentially smart sorts in here, such as Coup De Pinceau and Sam Brown.
Boagrius
He has switched to Tom [George] from Warren Greatrex and he could be on a fair mark in this novices’ handicap chase on the form he showed in bumper and novice hurdles. And he has schooled well, too. And he won first time out last season, as well.
Gentleman Jon
He has won four times around here, and he didn’t run too badly on his return at this track earlier this month. The handicapper has given him a chance by dropping him 3lb, and he is now 2lb lower than when winning this race last season. So he has chances.
Unsafe Conduct
He hasn’t shown much in his completed starts, and fallen in the other two, so he doesn’t have an obvious chance here.
