Paddy Brennan: This is a horse I like a lot
Bells ‘N’ Banjos
This is a horse I like a lot. He won on his first start for us at Leicester last season and the expected good ground here will suit him well. This is his first run out of novice company and I would say that he is only fairly handicapped on what he has done to date, but he is a genuine horse who tries and I would like to think that he has more improvement in him on only his fifth start over fences. We are hoping for a big run.

He had a run round in a maiden hurdle at Warwick earlier in the month, which hopefully he will have needed and put him spot on for this. He was going well in the Red Rum at Aintree before suffering some interference and falling 4 out and he atoned for that mishap when winning for me at Warwick. He is 6lb higher and any rain wouldn’t harm his chances – though he is fine on good ground – but he is another horse I do like. He certainly has chances in a competitive handicap chase.
Anteros
He won by 7 lengths at the Open meeting here last season, or whatever it is called now, and as a result he is still high enough in the weights. And he is certainly a horse who wouldn’t mind seeing some rain. But he ran well enough for me over fences at Bangor last time and he is a better horse in this sphere, and we know track and trip suits.
Herecomestheboom
He finished second in an Irish point in May and that experience will stand him in good stead here. He has done everything we have asked of him at home, and we are hoping that will show that ability on the track.
