Premier League preview: Leicester vs Liverpool
Leicester are playing for Premier League survival; Liverpool are playing for a potential Champions League spot.
Neither side may be able to meet their ambitions – but it’s a lot easier to fancy the visitors to land a result at the King Power. Liverpool are on a pretty solid run, unbeaten in eight and winning their last six; meanwhile, the Foxes have won just one of their last 13 league games.
Dean Smith’s side conceded five goals to Fulham last Monday. True, Leicester did threaten a late comeback with three second half goals, but bottom line, the Midlands side just concede too easily. They haven’t kept a clean sheet since November.
And the Merseyside team’s slim hopes of finishing in the top four offers Klopp’s men the motivation to turn over this lacklustre Leicester side.
Liverpool put six past Leeds at Elland Road on a Monday night a few weeks ago. Could this be another cakewalk for the Reds? At the very least, we’d expect a fair few goals, so backing Liverpool to win and over 2.5 in a double at Evens could work out.
Trent Alexander Arnold may also be worth a look against a side that may give up plenty of goalscoring opportunities. The 24-year-old has six assists in his last seven games, and is 11/4 to provide another on Monday.
