Premier League preview: Wolves vs Sheffield United
Sheffield United’s philosophy since promotion seems to be “we’re here for a bad time, not a long time”. That said, the Blades’ current Premier League campaign has had a few bright spots. Including beating Wolves 2-1 back in November.
That was the South Yorkshire side’s first league win this season – and they’ve only won twice more since then. Can Chris Wilder possibly plot a course to see his side do the league double on the Old Gold this Sunday?
It sounds a little ambitious, given Wilder’s team were stuffed 5-0 at home to Brighton last time out – and in fact, the previous home game before that ended in another 5-0 loss to Aston Villa.
But while Wolves are having an unexpectedly good season under Gary O’Neil, they have lost their last two home games, to Brentford and Man Utd. So there remains some faint flame of hope for the visitors, who came away with a 3-1 win over Luton in their last away game.
Wolves will probably win, but the odds don’t appeal; and Sheffield United have shown at least a bit more fight under Wilder. BTTS at 4/5 is a decent possibility; so too is Hwang Hee Chan to score for the hosts.
With Matheus Cunha out with an injury, the South Korean could be Wolves best chance to find the net. Hwang has 10 league goals already in this campaign, and is 57/50 to find the net against a side that have kept one clean sheet all season.
