Game Features: Symbols, paylines
Le Bandit plays out on a 6-reel, 5-row grid without the usual paylines. Instead, it uses the Cluster Pays mechanics, which form winning combinations when five or more matching symbols touch vertically or horizontally. The number of symbols in the combination determines the payout.
Its paying symbols include 10 to Ace card values and themed symbols, such as cheese, a beer mug, baguettes, and a Leprechaun hat. There are also special symbols, such as Wilds, Scatters, Coins, Rainbows, Four-Leaf Clovers, and Pot of Gold. They are explained in more detail later in this Le Bandit slot review.
Slot Mechanics
Le Bandit has several unique features, including Super Cascades, Golden Squares, and Treasure at the End of the Rainbow.
Super Cascades
All symbols part of a winning combination vanish from the reels and new ones drop in to take their place. If the new symbols form a win, they are also removed, and the process repeats until no new wins are formed.
Golden Squares
Every time a win lands, the cells with the winning symbols are highlighted with a Golden Square before the Super Cascades kick in. If there’s a Rainbow symbol on the reels, it activates the highlighted cells and turns their symbols into Bronze, Silver, or Gold Coins, Four-Leaf Clovers, or Pot of Gold symbols. The Coins have different multipliers:
- Bronze Coins: 0.2x to 4x
- Silver Coins: 5x to 20x
- Gold Coins: 25x to 500x
Once the Coins reveal their values, the Four-Leaf Clovers multiply the Coins and Pot of Gold symbols in adjacent cells by a value between 2x and 10x. If there are any Pot of Gold symbols, they then activate, collecting and storing the values of all Coins and other Pot of Gold symbols.
Next, the Pot of Gold symbols reactivate the Golden Squares, revealing a set of new Coins and special symbols. The process repeats until no new Pot of Gold symbols appear.
When it ends, all Coins and values in the Pot of Gold are added and multiplied by your stake. AAs we noted during our Le Bandit slot review, outcomes from this feature vary and are not guaranteed to be significant.
Luck of the Bandit Bonus
This bonus is triggered by landing three Scatters. It offers 8 free spins, during which all Golden Squares remain highlighted until a Rainbow lands and activates them. Landing two, three, or four Scatter symbols adds two, three, and four free spins, respectively. Getting four Scatters upgrades the feature to the All that Glitters is Gold bonus.
All that Glitters is Gold Bonus
The All that Glitters is Gold bonus is triggered by landing four Scatters in the base game or free spins bonus round. Once it starts, it awards 12 free spins and keeps all the Golden Squares highlighted until the free spins end. They don’t deactivate even after the Rainbow symbol appears.
Landing two or three Scatters adds two or four extra spins, respectively.
Treasure at the End of the Rainbow Bonus
The Treasure at the End of the Rainbow feature is the highlight of this Le Bandit slot review. It activates and awards 12 free spins when 5 Scatter symbols land in the base game.
Like in the All that Glitters is Gold bonus, the Golden Squares remain highlighted till the end. But this feature goes a step further: a Rainbow symbol must land on every spin, and the lower-paying Bronze Coins don’t appear.

Regarding volatility, the slot is rated medium. This means it balances between small, frequent payouts and the occasional large win.

Audiovisuals
Le Bandit is set in a sepia-lit backstreet in Paris, with Smokey to the right of the grid wearing a beret and a twirly moustache, holding a crоwbar. It uses visually appealing cartoonish graphics and quirky animations to achieve a playful vibe.
A jazzy piano soundtrack plays in the background, with sound effects during wins that complement the visuals.
Our Rating
This Le Bandit slot review team rates the slot 100/100. Its bonus features are its greatest strengths, as well as the high max win, audiovisuals, and user experience.
Gameplay excitement (20/20)
Le Bandit keeps players engaged with playful animations, a themed soundtrack, cascading reels, and features like Golden Squares. Wins tend to land relatively frequently in the base game, so the slot doesn’t feel boring between bonuses.
The bonus features offer an even more engaging experience, with their unique mechanics and rising multipliers. More about the bonuses in the section below.
Bonus features quality (20/20)
Le Bandit’s bonus features are Golden Squares, Luck of the Bandit, All that Glitters is Gold, and Treasure at the End of the Rainbow. The latter three are based on the Golden Squares feature, a distinct mechanic that sets Le Bandit apart from other online slots.
It also introduces unique symbols, like the Pot of Gold, that can extend the bonus, though resulting payouts vary and are not guaranteed.
Max Win Potential (15/15)
Le Bandit has an impressive winning potential for a medium-volatility slot. Its 96.34% RTP and 32.47% hit rate are well above the industry averages.
During our Le Bandit slot review, we landed a win every couple of spins, but there were long dry spells at times because the outcomes are random. The payouts were low in the base game, but sizeable wins occurred every time Golden Squares was triggered.
The maximum win is 10,000x the stake. And since the symbol payouts aren’t particularly generous, activating one of the bonuses to trigger it may be necessary.
Volatility balance (15/15)
Le Bandit slot has medium volatility, meaning outcomes range from small, more frequent wins to rare, larger payouts. As with all outcomes, results are random and unpredictable, including how often the Golden Squares feature activates in a session.
Theme and design (10/10)
Despite the cartoonish graphics, the feisty raccoon, detailed symbols, jazzy piano soundtrack, and rubbish-strewn backdrop are meticulously designed. Plus, the animations have small details, like Smokey dropping his moustache disguise, that add personality and keep the atmosphere light-hearted.
Even though the grid is small, the symbols are easy to see, and the winning combinations are simple to track, even when Golden Squares and Super Cascades activate at the same time.
Replay value (10/10)
Le Bandit offers a varied audiovisual and gameplay experience across multiple sessions.
Its graphics keep the vibe playful, while the soundtrack and sound effects bring the French backstreet to life. The special features in the base game and three different bonus rounds add variety. Its stated maximum win of 10,000x is a rare outcome, not a typical result.
User Experience (10/10)
We had a very user-friendly experience while testing the game for this Le Bandit slot review. It has a typical layout and keeps things simple with a prominent spin button and arrows to increase or decrease the stake. The game isn’t overwhelming despite having numerous features.
Its paytable is also easily accessible and explains the features and mechanics with simple language that even new players can understand.
